2 nights at Lodge (Throughout the year)

 

Day 1:

Am: Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park which is about 5 hours's scenic drive.

 

Arrive at Chitrasari. Reception by Gaida naturalist. Transfer to the Lodge followed by refreshments and a

briefing about the afternoon programme and the Lodge facilities.

 

1300 hrs: Lunch at the central dining restaurant, "Golghar"

1500 hrs:  A talk on the elephants by our naturalist at the elephant stable.

1600 hrs: Jungle safari on elephant back. An excellent opportunity to see four different kinds

of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, leopard, monkeys, birds and many other smaller animals.

1830 hrs: A Slide Show Presentation about the natural history & flora & fauna of the national park. 

1930 hrs: Dinner.

 

Day 2:

0600 hrs: Wake up call. Tea/Coffee. Nature walk: An excellent opportunity to be familiar with the diverse vegetation of the park and to see a great many of those over 500 different species of birds which have made Chitwan their home.

0730 hrs: Breakfast.

0830 hrs: Dugout canoe ride along with Dungre/Rapti river. An excellent opportunity for bird watching and to see the 2 rare species of crocodile; the marsh mugger and the fish eating gharial.  Half an hour walk through the jungle to The Elephant Breeding Farm. Drive back to the Lodge.

1300 hrs:  Lunch.

1530 hrs: Village walk. A conducted visit to the nearby Tharu village.

1730 hrs: Walk/drive back to the Lodge.

1830 hrs: Tharu Tribal Dance presented by the local Tharu villagers.

1930 hrs: A typical Nepalese Buffet Dinner.

 

Day 3:

0600 hrs:  Wake up call. Tea/Coffee. Elephant Safari/Nature Walk or at Leisure

0730 hrs: Breakfast.

0900 hrs: Departure from the Lodge for onward journey.

 

 

3 nights at Lodge (throughout the year)

 

Day 1:

1930 hrs: A typical Nepalese buffer dinner.

 

Day 3: Normal Programme.

0600 hrs:  Wake up call. Tea/Coffee. Nature walk or at leisure.

0730 hrs: Breakfast.

0830 hrs: Jungle safari on elephant back.

1300 hrs: Lunch.

1530 hrs: A conducted Birding tour to Bishazari Lake.

1830 hrs: A slide show presentation about the natural history &

Flora & fauna of the national park.

1930 hrs: Dinner

 OR,

Day 3: For Bird Watchers and other Enthusiasts.

0530 hrs: Wake up call.

0600 hrs: Early breakfast.

0630 hrs: Full day excursion to the Churia hills for Bird Watching

with our knowledgeable naturalists. Packed lunch will be provided.

1830 hrs: Tharu Tribal Dance presented by the local Tharu villagers.

1930 hrs: Dinner

 

Day 4:

0600 hrs: Wake up call for elephant safari, nature walk or at leisure.

0700 hrs: Breakfast.

0930 hrs: Departure from the Lodge for onward journey.

2 or more persons traveling together  - 5490 sek per person sharing twin room.
